Guys welcome to the very last episode of the laurdiy halloween series. Im seriously seriously so sad that well no i actually really happy that halloween is coming so love halloween. But like im really sad the series is over because i can realistically make halloween costumes all year long and not be bad about it im actually being scooby doo.
This weekend with bads thats gonna be shaggy and i got my if you want to see more pictures of my costume. Just go ahead and follow me on instagram because when this is up. Oh.
A no halloween is next weekend next time. Im literally so lost in like so yeah make sure to follow my instagram. If you want to see pictures of our final costume and my final scooby costume.
But yeah so todays costume is a peacock and i was a peacock this turn two years ago.
So i told you guys last week that if you wanted to be like a real hardcore lurk and find out what the speaks costume is you could go through my instagram and lurk like real far back and see the costumes that i used to be that i havent done a tutorial on and i think it was two years ago that i was a peacock and i got so many requests from tutorial and i dont remember why it didnt happen last year. But its here this year. And i actually like this one way way way better than when i was a peacock in the prior years so lets just hover it for this costume.
Youre going to need about eight to ten meters of tulle in peacock colors scissors. A glue gun a blue top in any kind of style depending on your weather and peacock feathers. So tool usually comes doubled in half.
So im going to be sure to leave it like that so we have a closed edge on the top and then just cut strips that are about two inches wide. All the way along the tool and you can also speed this process up by folding the tool over a few times youre cutting through multiple layers. When youre cutting the strips.
And if youve seen any of my other costume tutorials that involve tutus.
Youre probably already a pro at this next theyre gonna grip the strips together and trip down the open edge to shorten all the pieces and this part is definitely optional depending on how long you want your tutu. But i find the shorter. They are the easier.
It is to make it a fluffy tutu so go ahead and repeat that exact same process for all the colors. You chose and continue to grip them and trim them down. And do you have lots of strips in each color.
And also before i forget for a tutorial. There are always tips and tricks to make the costume warmer in the downbar below. If youre gonna be trick or treating in a cold environment and for those of you worried for my sake because im in toronto.
Im usually indoors for halloween and its like a thousand degrees.
So thats why ive chosen a tank top for the table so to attach the tulle pieces. Im just using a piece of yarn you can use ribbon or elastic as well now to start putting the tutu together im gonna grab a few different colors lukkage folded edge over my thumb go under the string and pull the tail through the loop and for each combination of tulle pieces. Im going to do different color combos and repeat the same process of looping.
It under and pulling the tail through that loop and then pulling it tight. I also find the easiest to tape down on the piece of string or elastic that youre working with so that its super easy to pull the tool tight. I also chose to use black as my base color.
So im using black more frequently than the other colors. So i think i bought about four meters of black and then one or two meters of each other color. So go ahead and keep repeating that process grouping three or four pieces of tulle together pull them tight on your waistband and pushing them together until you have a super ii ii ii ii to now with my peacock feathers.
Im gonna do a line of glue on the back of the feather and then place it onto one of the tool pieces one or two layers down after the glue has cooled for a few seconds.
Im gonna place one of the top layer tool pieces on top of the feather to sandwich it in and hide some of the quills stem part im gonna repeat that process every 6 inches apart and once ive gone all the way around im gonna cut off the stem. So im just left with the eye of the feather and next. Im gonna put a line of glue on the back and press.
It onto the bottom of a strip of tulle and its also helpful to layer a few pieces so that the glue has more stick to when you apply it so go ahead and add some more of those onto your tutu and the last final touch. Im gonna add some glue onto a bobby pin and pop a feather on the back as well and you are all done so i hope you guys enjoyed this video. And it also hopefully you guys really enjoyed the halloween series.
