“Thanks for watching the video. This is going to be an overview of the garmin garmin connect app. I m running this on android. But it should be similar the if you ve got this on iphone so let s just go straight into the app now the apps gonna load up and it s going to try and sink straight away with my watch.
I m come he got the fenix 5x plus. So in the top there you can see it s trying to sync. I m gonna go to all the way around it ll get the latest data from it this is the my day view. Which you can go into and it s going to give you your activity details steps intensity minutes.
Etc. You can actually customize this if you go all the way down to the bottom. And do edit my day from here you can choose the different things that you would like to see. And then if you don t want heart rate at the top you can move that and put it in different orders.
And i ve selected down at the bottom that i ll do want to see yesterday statistics and the last seven days. So if we go back. We can just see i ve got an insight. So i can click to read that so i ve got an update.
I ve hit my what floors goal for seven days and so i can edit this now make it a bit harder if i want to and you can also swipe left right to dismiss things i ve got some an activity that i did this morning. I can reseed the information. It tells me the watch. And what the device that was actually used to store this this is just cardio.
So it s it s a general cardio so it s quite limited in the amount of information this stores. But it s got heart rate. We could see there what i was working the different heart rate zones that i was in which is all good current heart rate at the moment. I can go into that and then you can actually scroll across and see this see where it was for different parts of the day you get you steps in ten to two minutes.
Which is moderate and vigorous so depending on how you re working out and what you re doing vigorous minutes..
Sorry that yeah the biggest minutes counting for double my laughs at my goal to be 500 for the week which are normally quite easily hit. I ve got calories in and out it actually links with my fitness pal so you see at the bottom now if you click log calories in life in mfp which is my fitness pal it ll take me through to my fitness. Pal. Where i can put some the details.
But you can see i ve got my 394. I m active minutes. I ve consumed so far today 842 calories. And then i ve got my my current goal.
There got my floss. How many flights of steps you got up it s just a rough approximation of elevation change sleep and then stress and then from here. I can manually add activity many without my weight and some calories. If i want to then the colors will take me through to my fitness power.
Then i could see summary for yesterday. And then also the last seven days. Which is really cool so it s a good lot of information for me. If i click on the watch this actually takes me into areas.
Where i can customize i can add music this has got spotify support now. The phoenix market sets of garmin pay. I can have different text responses so depending on what i m doing if i click into that i can have with spot different responses to messages or incoming calls change the appearance. Which is where i can go through and i can go through the different watch faces so you can download these from the store all the ones i ve got on here are free.
I m using gear min at the moment to my watch and then these are the ones. I ve installed previously and since uninstalled and then you can also customize widgets on the watch. But that s that s going in to watch customization. I don t want to get sidetracked going into that at the moment.
We can set up sounds and alert from the on the watch..
Which is really good the activity options whether you want audio prompts. I ve got that turned off activity tracking and this has got pull socks for the m oxygen. I ve got that turned off at the moment. But you can actually have a widget on the watch and you can just run it manually and so i do do that i d be so often just to see what it is move alert.
When you ve been still for too long. He could prompt you to get moving. It s a nice feature. But i don t respond to it when it goes off i exercise fairly regularly.
I don t need that telling me when to move so you can have that turned off because that deadly step goal you can have actually automatically and then garmin will increase it if you keep beating it but then it gets to something daft that you can t possibly be so 10000. This sort of if i sort of hit that i m happy. But i don t do anything extra to try and go over the goal so i leave the weekly intensity minutes. Specify that and then daily floors client.
I just leave it at 10 00 and then you can go in set general user settings so setup you enter your gender your height your weight you can set up customized heart rate zones and power zones and when you go to bed. And then there are some general things with our wrist heart rate with you wanted on where do you want it to automatically upload activities when you want 24 hour clock with you want it in miles or kilometers. So you can really customize it to how you want it so when you load it up you can go on to the my day. And so we ve seen that you can change the order that these widgets appearing you can set up challenges.
Which you can do is mainly from the from the website and then also you can see different connections. You ve got go through to calendar view. So you can see what you ve been doing on different days. And you can see if you ve weighed yourself.
That s a little scale icon in the top right of each day. So if i go through ice. It was quite a lot on this friday. So i can see you know walking i did the sleep what way tours and i can see the different heart rates at different times.
When i was exercising so it s cool for just going back to different days newsfeed if you ve got different connections..
You ll see what other people are doing i ve got this set to a private account at the moment. But i can go through and i can see everything life. I ve been logging and the notifications if there s anything you ve got on there so from my day. If you click in the menu at the top you can actually go into activities and then if you want to get directly into steps you couldn t see the details there so this is some refi last seven days ago for us four weeks.
But for the last twelve months and see the details from there any walking that you ve been doing underneath in the last seven days. But that s four weeks. We can see the details there so you can just go through the different activities that you re doing i don t haven t been storing any cycling or swimming. But you can see as well the intensity minutes.
He s been doing for the last three months just to see how you re doing based on previous exertion dolph. There as well health stats when you sleep his weight calories heart rate. So yeah if we go wait for this so i can see wife s been like four weeks this month. Weigh stays pretty steady and that s it over the last twelve months.
So that s it really frat to his year so health stats. And i ve got performance stats. You can have training status. Vo2.
Max. Which really you need to be running and outdoors. Ideally for that to calculate properly. But if we go training status yeah.
One to me too he wants me to run outside to get a better status update. Which i don t until i just generally run on the treadmill so mine doesn t really update on that it d be nice. If it didn t rely on outdoor running and but i understand why it needs to do it to get the proper metrics for the runs. You like to take threshold.
Stress. Pulse. Arcs. Which is all very nice training can have different workouts workout.
Plans and if you link to strava you can have courses in segments. Which is nice you can link gear as well. So i ve linked to my pair of trainers for when i go for a run on the treadmill and i ve got no idea when they re actually going to wear out so i ve just put it at 800 kilometers. But i can see that i ve done 248 k.
In them. So it s just going to give me an idea of when it might be time to replace them. And then you can go into insights. So this is how i m doing compared to other people similar age floors.
And i can see running about with right what you do compared to other people you can see what s this or you all insights so we can see different stats from that so you can see connections you can link to facebook. Google. And then have friends just within garment as well. Which isn t really anything i do on there and then just yeah just configure the device itself in garmin devices and settings.
So that s it basically just a very brief overview just going through so yeah so when you go through as you can see it s reading my heart rate off from a wrist monitor at the moment and up those steps. He s just nice just being able to just go in and it s got a good link to my fitness pal. But what i can do is there s it s actually more comprehensive the website as well you can go in there. And it gets the data that gets synced up to their servers.
And there s quite a bit more you can see and view on there so get video like and i ll i ll do another video. We ll go more in depth actually looking at the website and then also perhaps actually setting up a device to ” ..
