Today, savegooglewave.com would like to introduce to you How to Boot the Galaxy S8 into Recovery Mode or Download Mode. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“It s up there guys cory. I ve got to be mobile. And say what what we wanted to do real quick to show you how to boot. The galaxy or galaxy s8 interpret covering mode and download mode.
Now there s two different reasons for this and they both work kind of similar. But different ways. The first thing you want to do is go ahead and power off the phone. So pushing hold the power button and turn it off and when you re in recovery mode.
You can do a couple of things you can apply updates from adb or from you know an sd card. You can wipe the cache partition you can do a couple. Other things and then in download mode. You can launch an update and push files to your phone by using like samsung s odin tools or samsung smart switch.
Which is great if your phone struggling or it s frozen or something happened when you re trying to download custom roms. What have you odin will kind of let you flash back to the stock software and save your phone especially if something s going on so for a recovery mode. It s changed here with the galaxy s 8..
Because there s no longer a physical button. So we re gonna use the power button volume up and the bixby button. So go ahead and turn the phone on the side hit volume up bixby and hold them both and then push and hold the power button. So now i m holding all three and now let go of power.
Once you see that and then continue holding a volume up and bixby and then now we can let go and it does this system update screen. We ll notice that there s no update. Available or no files are available. And it ll kind of give you this okay.
There s nothing going on thing so from here there s nothing going on it recognizes it and you tap the big speed button and now we are in the recovery. This is a recovery mode on the galaxy s. A galaxy s 8. Plus.
And as you can see here. There s a couple of different options when you launch into recovery. Kinda has some stuff going on reboot the system you know reboot the bootloader apply updates on adb from the sdcard you can wipe the cache partition you re gonna wipe..
The data partition you can also completely erase your phone. So be careful in here. Because you can and will completely erase your phone. You can also do a couple of other things.
But the main one here is to not wipe data factory reset . But wipe the cache partition this clears out some of those like remnants and leftover. Files it s. Great when you know after you maybe android 70.
Noget when we update the oreo if you do run into any issues. You might want to clear the cache partition so use volume up and down to navigate. I m gonna go up to a reboot system now just because well actually let s go to power off so you just go down to anything you want to select. So go down to power off and hit the power button to select.
I m going to do that and go ahead and turn the phone off and now i will show you how to boot into download mode. So as instructions kind of say the last one was power volume up to boot into recovery sort of boot into download mode. It is volume down..
Very easy to understand that way instead of this you use power bixby and volume down. But you do it all and let go of all them at the same time. And it instantly boots into download mode makes it kind of hard to see then you hit volume up to continue and now we are in the full on download mode on the galaxy s 8 and from here you can use odin or any of those other themes to flash files to your phone. So that s it very quick very simple remember to boot in a recovery.
It s volume up and the boot into download mode. It is volume down well. folder you can see it s a rather large folder and maybe there s something in music. I don t want let s say for some reason i want to give over my entire itunes library.
I could do that from here now once again not recommended all i have to do is select the folder right here i have my itunes folder selected and i could go down to the delete button right here click on it and it s going to say destroy the selected files you aren t getting them back so make sure you really want them gone. So kind of a warning and then of course click destroy. And it says destroy for a reason. Because it really is just destroying everything so always be careful so i m definitely not going to destroy this now if i double click on the folder down in the corner.
Here. It s going to open up that folder in a finder window. So that i can see where it is in a more traditional view..
If i wanted to now let s say i don t want to size my entire hard drive because it does take a while i can go to the file menu and click size folder and from here. It s gonna give me a menu where i can just choose to size a specific folder. So let s say i want to just size. My documents folder.
And i can click open and from here. It s going to just size that folder and you can see it rather quickly. I didn t have to waste my time sizing everything else. And it you can see that i do have some pretty large files in there too now i can also just size my home folder from my file menu right here.
And that s probably. The safest option because most of the stuff in your home folder isn t gonna really hurt you that bad if you would accidentally delete something with the exception of like your itunes library or things like that so basically as long as you re careful and you don t delete things that you shouldn t be so just you know take fair warning and look what you re doing before you do it i m this sweeper can be a very helpful utility and very useful in saving you space on your hard drive. I know i ve probably gained at least 50 gigabytes of space back after using this tool. And it s very useful and it can really help you out a lot so i hope your phone that s very useful and thank you ” .
